Bhavishyavani Future Co. gets on design duty for cult director Ashim Ahluwalia’s new film ‘Daddy’ – based on the story of former don-turned-politician Arun Gawli. 

Background
An upcoming Indian political crime drama film that stars Arjun Rampal, portraying gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli. Our Approach for the Daddy’s visual communications was inspired by original existing mugshots/images that portrayed the rawness and unfiltered lifestyle that was a huge part of the original protagonist’s life. A lot of the images provided gave us hints and ideas of the man behind the inspiration of this movie. Taking the lead role as Arun Gawli, Arjun Rampal makes up for a stellar performance.

Design System
We wanted to build a visual language that maintained a sense of straightforwardness that portrayed the lifestyle of the former don in a way that the visual elements do not overpower the weight of the Character but rather let it plainly speak for itself. Our design team came up with a visual identity that looks simple yet edgy by partly blending elements of original found documents/images of the current Gawli Case.

All images were treated to give a certain grittiness that compliments the times and situations that the movie is based around.
